For Chutney's Sake - Brand Identity


For Chutney’s Sake is a Bangalore-based quick-service restaurant born out of a passion for chutneys - India’s most loved condiment. Driven by a desire to delve into the diverse world of this culinary category, the founders decided to embark on a journey to explore, document, and revive traditional recipes passed down through families and friends. 
I worked with them to develop a brand identity that showcases their values and personality. Based on their deep appreciation for authenticity and flavors that resonate with heritage, we aimed to create a visual narrative that celebrates the rich variety of chutneys while infusing it with a modern twist. Every element has been designed to convey a sense of warmth, playfulness, and the joy of discovering new taste sensations.


The logo is a custom wordmark where letters nestle snugly, symbolizing a harmony of flavors. Its rounded edges have a friendly and approachable feel, reflecting the brand's values: authenticity, creativity, and culinary joy. A playful arc within the "C" creates an intriguing detail — it adds a touch of whimsy and serves as the foundation for a secondary mark or icon that resembles a cheeky smile, reflecting the brand's playful personality.
